with no purpose

No one imagines that a symphony is supposed to improve in quality as it goes along, or that the whole object of playing it is to reach the finale. The point of music is discovered in every moment of playing and listening to it. It is the same, I feel, with the greater part of our lives, and if we are unduly absorbed in improving them we may forget altogether to live them.
-Alan Watts

Can you do something this week with no point or purpose or goal other than the doing of it, the being in it?

A yoga practice to simply feel…rather than to feel better
A meditation sit without a timer…just being there until you are done…
Listening to music or reading a book…absorbed in the story of it…
A walk without a destination or exercise goal…

You are not a self-improvement project. You are not broken or flawed. This is your life, right now. This.

Can you hear the music?
